In the play Becket, written by Jean Anouihl, the main character is Thomas Becket. In the play The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller, one of the main characters is John Proctor. While Becket and Proctor have many similarities, they also have many differences.
Thomas Becket is a very wise and loyal person. Although he has both the qualities of wisdom and loyalty, Becket has an inability to trust anyone. Thomas Becket also knows what the possibilities of truth can be, such as death or hurting the church. Thomas Becket meets his decline through death by a very high monarch- the king.
