Beowulf is a story that is pagan, but many would argue that it contains Christian influences. The main theme is good versus evil. Some say that the good, Beowulf, is an allegory for Jesus Christ. Others would argue that there are not enough similarities between them, in fact that they are opposites. What is clear is that the evil, the monsters, are pagan.
However, there are several Christian influences that combat with the pagan story. The first sign of Christian influence is apparent when " king Hrothgar's glorious throne, protected by God" was not able to be touched by Gendel.
