VANCOUVER -- Former B.C. premier Glen Clark elected to be tried on breach-of-trust
charges by a judge alone yesterday, clearing the way for publication of pre-trial
arguments that included questions about how the investigation was conducted.
David Gibbons, Clark's lawyer, has been questioning the way police obtained a warrant
to tap the former premier's telephone, evidence that could form a crucial part of the case.
The wiretap authorization was obtained as part of an investigation into the awarding of
