Our planet is in an alarming state of disrepair at this point in our brief existence. The most alarming part being that the current decline of the environment is due to the actions of one race of beings and it has all happened in the last 10,000 years, a relatively short while compared to the 4+ billion the earth has existed! Two amazing contemporary authors decided to do something about it. One, Mark Hertsgaard decided to travel the world on his on money for a decade in order to see for himself and hear first hand the stories of poverty, hunger and environmental blight in which our world currently sits. He compiled this story into Earth Odyssey. The other, Daniel Quinn chose to make a fictional story told from the viewpoint of a silverback ape that shares a name with the book, Ishmael. ...
