Some literary figures do what they feel is right even in the face of opposition. An example is Claudius, in Shakespeare's Hamlet. Claudius is a character who mainly thinks of self-interest. He pays little attention on what is right and drives away anything that blocks his desires.
Claudius murdered his brother, King Hamlet, and worries that his son, Hamlet, is verging upon for revenge. His fears towards this situation urged him further to a point where he decided to send Hamlet away to England immediately, where he can be given an opportunity in meeting an "accident".
Claudius believes that the disorder he been experiencing is all because of Hamlet. He fears Hamlet would kill him, therefore, himself being "right", he decides to kill Ham ...
