A hero is one who is not only strong, but one who uses his strength to uphold others. A hero is humble, brave and selfless, a humanitarian at best. In the unprecedented epic Beowulf, the tale's namesake exemplifies every characteristic befitting an Anglo-Saxon hero. He is honest, loyal, and courageous. Beowulf portrays all of these characteristics in both the movie and the book, but the in the movie the thirteenth warrior is more of the real hero. The thirteenth warrior has an enormous role change that he has to face. Such a huge role that changed his life greatly forever.
The book relates to the major hero as being Beowulf. The movie relates to the thirteenth warrior as being the hero. I think that they are very similar heroes but different in ways too.
